
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Project Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Program Management
FLSA: Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the overall performance of the contract. The candidate will be a liaison between the Client, NVI Senior Management Team, and Project Staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the performance of small to mid-sized projects or a definable portion of a larger program in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
Develop project requirements, acceptance criteria, and objectives of proposed client solution.
Determine and manage project costing, schedules, and staffing levels.
Define and manage project scope, assigns and maintains resources.
Make technical contribution to the project.
Develops and follows CMMI Level 2 processes to ensure excellent project performance and continued profitability.
Identifies project risks and develops contingency plans.
Develop status reports, track issues and execute problem resolution.
Responsible for total project quality.
Create and execute internal team and external client communications model.
Provide guidance and assistance to project staff on tasks required per the contract SOW.
Ensure all deliverables are met in a timely fashion
Facilitates the coordination of all project related activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree with 7-10 years of work experience or Ph. ED Degree with 5-7 years of work experience
At least 3 years of prior project management experience
Experience working in a non-profit or school environment
Prior experience working with the Department of Education is a plus
Strong Instructional Systems Design (ISD) background; experienced with the entire ISD life cycle.
Knowledge of e-learning and web-based training skill sets
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and demands.
Exhibit outstanding customer service skills
Interact effectively with all levels of organization personnel, clients, and vendors.
Proficient in using MS office products (i.e., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and project planning tools, such as, MS Project.
Produce quality results in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Apply team and interpersonal skills to changing work circumstances.
Demonstrated experience working with research focus groups is a plus
Ability to listen and contribute effectively to the group
