JOB DESCRIPTION

 

                                                                                          

POSITION:               Curriculum Developer

 

REPORTS TO:         Project Manager

 

FLSA:                         Exempt

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
The curriculum developer shall develop and deliver standardized training and materials suitable for supporting classroom instruction, individualized web-based training, practical application and examination in appropriate media formats capable of supporting training for personnel.

 

Research and gather appropriate information to be used to develop course material.

 

Determine training objectives and write training programs, including the course outline, lecture material, handouts, and exams.

 

Facilitate educational training programs

 

Coordinate, administer and facilitate research focus groups

 

Gather and compile data at the end of the training to measure the overall effectiveness of the course material.

 

The individual shall be dedicated to maintaining, revising and developing courses of instruction in support of the course development and delivery initiatives using a blend of web-based, instructor led, on-the-job training and/or practical application and distant learning training initiatives.  

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

5+ years of experience with instructional systems design or adult education

Bachelor’s Degree in Education; Master Degree in Instructional Design or Curriculum Development preferred

Demonstrated experience working within an Education environment

 

Knowledge of Adult Learning Techniques and Methodologies

Knowledge of e-learning and web-based training skill sets

Proficient in using MS office products (i.e., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

Experience teaching in a grade school or high school setting is a plus

 

Knowledge of research methodologies

Demonstrated experience working with research focus groups is a plus

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Ability to listen and contribute effectively to the group
